1. Eligibility

To enroll in a course, you must be at least 18 years old. If enrolling on behalf of an organization, you confirm you have the authority to bind the organization to these Terms.

2. Scope of Training

Our programs provide theory-based education in smart home and connected systems.

Our certification does not replace or serve as a trade license, electrician license, building license, alarm/security license, or government-regulated credential.

Students are responsible for ensuring compliance with local building, electrical, networking, alarm/security, and licensing regulations before performing installations or professional services.

3. No Guarantee of Employment or Business Results

Unisun provides education only and does not guarantee:

• Employment or job placement

• Income or business success

• Client acquisition or leads

• Franchise profitability

Testimonials represent individual experiences only and should not be interpreted as guaranteed outcomes.

4. Certification

Certificates of completion are issued to students who complete course requirements. A certificate confirms course completion only and does not authorize regulated technical work.

Employers, municipalities, insurance companies, and regulatory bodies are not obligated to accept or recognize this certificate.

5. Intellectual Property

All course materials—including videos, PDFs, textbooks, diagrams, images, templates, and digital downloads—are the property of Liays Inc. or its content partners.

Students receive a single-user license for personal learning only. Students may not:

• Reproduce or share materials

• Screen-record lessons

• Resell or gift course access

• Publish or redistribute course content

• Use materials to build competing courses or certification programs

Violation may result in termination ofcourse access without refund and potential legal action.

6. Use of Third-Party Brand Names

Training materials reference third-party smart home products such as Amazon Alexa, Google Nest, Philips Hue, Samsung SmartThings, Ecobee, and others.
All trademarks belong to their respective owners.

Unless explicitly stated:

Liays Inc. is not sponsored by, endorsed by, partnered with, or affiliated with any third-party manufacturer mentioned in the course.

7. Safety and Student Responsibility

Smart home installations may involve electrical, structural, networking, and security systems that include safety and legal risk.

Students agree that:

• All work performed after training is done voluntarily and at their own risk

• They will comply with local codes, safety regulations, and licensing rules

• Unisun/Liays is not responsible for errors, equipment selection issues, installation failures, or client disputes

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Liays Inc. is not liable for:

• Lost income or business opportunities

• Rework or equipment costs

• Property damage

• Client disputes or reputational damage

• Data breaches or cybersecurity incidents

• Personal injury related to installations

If liability is established despite the above limits, the maximum damages recoverable shall not exceed the total amount paid for the applicable course.

9. Indemnification

Students agree to indemnify and hold harmless Liays Inc., its instructors, directors, contractors, and affiliates from any claims, losses, damages, fines, or legal fees arising from:

• Work performed by the student

• Business activities of the student

• Misuse of course materials

• Violation of these Terms

10. Refunds and Cancellations

Refund eligibility is governed by the Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms by reference.
Refund eligibility may be restricted once downloadable materials have been accessed or once a significant portion of the course is completed.

Promotional pricing is subject to change without notice.

11. Course Access

• Accounts are for individual use only

• Sharing login access, screen-recording lessons, or redistributing materials is prohibited

• Violations may result in account termination without refund

12. User Conduct

Users agree not to:

• Attempt unauthorized access to the Site

• Scrape, copy, reverse-engineer, or duplicate the Site or its platform

• Use the Services to develop competing training programs or certifications

13. Privacy

Personal information will be processed according to our Privacy Policy.

14. Binding Arbitration

To the fullest extent permitted by law, any dispute between you and Liays Inc. will be resolved through binding arbitration rather than in court.

• Arbitration will take place in Ontario, Canada

• Each party will bear its own legal costs unless otherwise required by law

• The arbitrator’s decision is final and enforceable

15. Class-Action Waiver

Students agree that disputes must be resolved individually.
By enrolling, you waive the right to participate in:

• Class actions

• Collective lawsuits

• Mass arbitration

• Joint claims

16. Non-Disparagement Clause

Students agree not to publish knowingly false, defamatory, or malicious statements about Liays Inc., Unisun, staff, instructors, or franchise offerings.
This provision does not prohibit:

• Honest negative feedback

• Reporting misconduct to regulators

• Legal participation when compelled by subpoena

17. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the laws of Canada applicable therein.
Subject to the binding arbitration clause above, any legal actions shall be brought exclusively in Ontario, Canada.

18. Amendments

We may modify these Terms from time to time. The most current version will always be posted on the Site. Continued use of the Services constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
